You can decide whether or not to display complementary products to your product page from the editing panel of the product page, in the "Similar Products" section.

By default, the addition of similar products will be done automatically based on any tags applied to your products, and on the collections to which your products belong. 

You can already use this automatic option to manage some cross selling strategies. For example, in the case of the "You'll like it too" product strategy, we would have only to integrate the "terracotta" tag to our catalog of products made of this material so that they appear in the automatic suggestions of our dinnerware set.

However, if you want to apply specific cross selling strategies, and have control over the product suggestions, you can manually decide which products will be displayed in the dynamic content of each product page. For this, delete the automatically added products, and then search for the products you want to display.
