Collection lists are sections of your Shopping app. To create one, simply add it like any other section from the Content & Design > Content > Section menu. Click on Add, then choose Collection List.

All you have to do is give your section a title, associate an image with it and finally validate the addition of your section.

Adding collections to your collection lists

Once your section has been added, it will appear in the list of your sections. Now there are two options:
  • click on the "+" icon to select the collections you want to include in the list

  • drag and drop the collections directly under the Collection List section

Design & UX of the collection list

The ergonomics of the collection list is closely linked to your choice of navigation mode. Indeed, there are 3 design templates for the collection list section:
The image speaks for itself, the template No.1 can only be applied if you have chosen a Swipe navigation mode. Templates 2 and 3 can be applied to any navigation mode.

So how to choose the design of your collection lists?

Template No. 1
This template allows a clear visualization of the store hierarchy. Totally integrated to the navigation mode, the template No. 1 allows a clear and sober display of your collections, and it ensures an optimal understanding of your store by your customers. We recommend this template if your number of collections is not too high, as in the case of a small clothing store for example.

Template No. 2
This template is a list page in its own right. It allows you to subtly illustrate your collections, by displaying the images you have associated with them as thumbnails. The thumbnails can be round or square. This template is particularly suitable for stores wishing to present a large number of collections.

Template No. 3
Last template, much more visual than the two previous ones. As for the template No. 2 it is a full-fledged list page in which the collections are presented as large images. This template will satisfy you if you want to highlight the visual of your products, or even your brand identity.

The same template for all collection lists?

A detail that may be important: you don't have to apply the same design template to all your collection lists. Even though we recommend that you maintain as much design consistency as possible in your Shopping App, in some cases it can be useful.

For example to create a hierarchy in your collection lists. Let's say that in our grocery store we offer the following collection lists and collections:
  • Food
    • Fresh
      • Fruits
      • Vegetables
    • Bulk
      • Cereals
      • Rice & Pasta
    • Health & Beauty
      • Cosmetics
      • Essential Oils

Do you see? Here we have several levels to identify since some collection lists include not collections, but collection lists. We have therefore chosen not to apply the same list template for the level 1 and 2 lists so that the customer does not get lost in the tree structure of our catalog.
